PIMA's Professional Specialist Group for
Purchasing and Affiliates has been in
operation for 12 years. One of our main functions is to plan a
high-quality,
purchasing-focused Specialist Group session for each year's
International Management Conference.
We also provide our members with a forum for keeping up with
trends, ideas, and
practices related to purchasing issues, the procurement function, and
the constantly
changing mill/supplier relationship, all within the pulp and paper
industry environment.
We meet two or three times each year; meetings include an
educational activity,
such as a mill or plant tour.
We also serve as a resource for National
PIMA for purposes of additional conference
session planning, speaker contact, or to review proposals,
directives, or membership
issues relating to the purchasing arena. Group members
have contributed
editorial content to PIMA's
Papermaker
magazine. All of our activity is conducted within the
guidelines of PIMA's
antitrust statement and code of compliance.
